Sidney Blumenthal warns Trump’s personal brand is in danger ahead of midterms

He describes the MAGA movement as a structure built solely around Trump’s charisma, noting that when that charisma wanes the entire organization risks imploding. Citing one outlet-Ipsos poll, Blumenthal points out that only 13 % of respondents strongly approve of Trump, contrasted with a 49 % strong disapproval rating and overall approval at 33 % versus 65 % disapproval.

He criticizes Trump’s recent appeal for Republican voters to “pretend” he is on the ballot, calling it ineffective. Blumenthal warns that any attempts to limit Trump may only intensify his anger, further destabilizing the GOP’s electoral prospects.
