Singapore allocates over S$45 million to boost AI adoption in manufacturing
The Singapore government will spend more than S$45 million over the next three years to help manufacturers, especially SMEs, adopt ready-to-use AI tools.
At the Industrial Transformation Asia-Pacific 2026 conference, Gan Siow Huang revealed a three-year commitment of over S$45 million to accelerate AI use in Singapore’s manufacturing sector. The money will back Enterprise Singapore’s Catalytic AI Solutions initiative, which offers co-funded, plug-and-play AI tools for tasks such as product design, RFQ automation, production scheduling and predictive maintenance, targeting especially SMEs.
The programme seeks to lower the cost, time and risk of AI adoption by linking solution providers, system integrators and industry groups. Enterprise Singapore will continuously broaden the AI suite as further needs are identified, while the AI Centre of Excellence for Manufacturing (AIMfg) moves into a deeper research and deployment phase, having already completed 23 projects with 30 firms. Additional measures, including an AI challenge for manufacturing and expanded grant schemes, were also announced to foster broader AI integration.
Why it matters
The funding aims to make AI tools accessible to Singapore’s manufacturers, boosting productivity and competitiveness in a key economic sector.
