Six Malaysian men admit to S$4.9 million armed robbery at King Albert Park residence
Six Malaysians pleaded guilty to armed gang robbery that netted S$4.9 million from a high-stakes poker house in King Albert Park.
Two men learned of lucrative poker games held at a King Albert Park residence and recruited a Malaysian crew to execute a robbery. On the night of April 18, seven masked men entered the unlocked house, restrained the hostess, her husband, a Korean dealer and a masseuse, and seized cash, jewelry and crypto assets totaling S$4.9 million. The loot was split between the robbers, who fled via two checkpoints into Malaysia.
Authorities have recovered roughly S$1.69 million, leaving about S$3.21 million unrecovered. Six of the seven perpetrators, identified as Wong Chi Shan, Goh Boon Tong, Mohd Hamidon Ahmed, Kartik Palaniappan, Mohd Hashim Ismail and Muhammad Tauffiq Ahmad Fauzi, pleaded guilty to armed gang robbery and related charges. Sentencing, which may include up to 13 years in prison and caning, is expected soon.
