Six men arrested in Perak for running online gambling scheme targeting Australians

Six suspects were detained in Perak after police raided a house used to run an online gambling operation aimed at Australian users.

Six individuals believed to be part of an online gambling network targeting Australians were taken into custody by Perak police during a raid on a three-storey terraced house in Kamunting, Taiping, at 8.05 pm. The suspects, aged between 22 and 31, reportedly earned between RM6,000 and RM10,000 a month by recruiting customers and advertising three platforms—One2Bet-Aus, Roladoll-Aus and Majesty777-Aus—through Telegram and WeChat, with gambling packages priced from AUD30 to AUD200.

Investigators found that payments were routed to Australian bank accounts and that the seized mobile phones used SIM cards linked to Australian carriers, while profile pictures of European women were employed to lure users. Police confiscated 18 phones, ten monitors, six CPUs and a router valued at RM35,000, and the men entered the house via a back door to avoid detection. All six have been remanded for four days as the case proceeds under Section 420 of the Penal Code, which carries up to ten years’ imprisonment, whipping and fines. Authorities warned that such cross-border scam syndicates exploit digital communications and urged the public not to facilitate them.
