Six Spanish pizzerias make the global top-100, with Madrid's Baldoria in the top ten
Six restaurants from Spain appear in the 2026 list of the world’s 100 best pizzerias, and Baldoria in Madrid secured the eighth spot worldwide.
At a ceremony in the Teatro Mercadante in Naples, the 50 Top Pizza World 2026 list was released, highlighting six Spanish establishments among the planet’s 100 finest pizzerias. Madrid’s Baldoria, operated by Neapolitan chef Ciro Cristiano, achieved eighth place worldwide and second in Europe, also winning the Best Marketing award for 2026. Barcelona’s Sartoria Panatieri placed 29th, praised for its farm-to-pizza concept using home-made cured meats and seasonal cheeses.
Madrid’s Fratelli Figurato, founded by brothers Vittorio and Riccardo Figurato, ranked 69th, while Galicia’s newcomer Oura entered at 76, and Bilbao’s Demaio and Barcelona’s La Balmesina completed the Spanish presence at 83rd and 87th respectively. The top global spot was claimed by London’s Napoli on the Road, marking the first time a UK venue topped the list. The guide’s assessment relied on nearly 1,000 anonymous inspectors who evaluated each pizzeria on dough, cooking, and service.
