Six-year-old collapses and dies after teacher allegedly slaps him over homework
A six-year-old boy died in a Vizag classroom after a teacher was seen slapping him for unfinished homework, according to his family.
In Visakhapatnam’s Kotharoad locality, six-year-old student Pranay Tej collapsed during class at Little Garden School and was later declared dead at KG Hospital. The family alleges the boy was beaten by a female teacher after failing to complete his homework, a claim supported by a video that shows the teacher scolding and then slapping the child before he fell onto her lap. Following the incident, relatives staged a protest at the hospital, calling for strict penalties for the teacher and the school’s administration.
Police and revenue officials have visited both the school and the hospital to start an investigation, with the exact medical cause of death to be. HRD minister Nara Lokesh offered condolences and said disciplinary action would be taken against the school management.
