Sixers newcomers and veterans turn up at Rico Hines offseason scrimmage
Several Philadelphia 76ers players, including recent additions, were seen participating in the annual Rico Hines Runs pick-up game.
Assistant coach Rico Hines hosted his yearly off-court scrimmage, drawing a mix of Philadelphia 76ers talent and outside players. Recent blockbuster moves—Jaylen Brown, LeBron James and first-round pick LaBaron Philon Jr—were spotted on the floor alongside existing roster members V.J. Edgecombe, Adem Bona, Dominick Barlow and Caleb Love, who recently signed a two-way contract.
Edgecombe arrived fresh from a rookie season averaging 16 points and 4.2 assists, while Bona and Barlow had earned roles in Nick Nurse’s system. The Sixers faced competition from NBA-experienced athletes including Daeqwon Plowden, Johnny Juzang and Celtics forward Luka Garza. The gathering serves as a practical rehearsal for the upcoming preseason camp.
