Sky greenlights untitled second season of Under Salt Marsh starring Rafe Spall

Sky announced it will produce a second, as-yet-untitled chapter of the crime series Under Salt Marsh, with Rafe Spall returning as Detective Eric Bull.

Sky revealed that it has commissioned an untitled second chapter of the original crime drama Under Salt Marsh, retaining Rafe Spall in the role of Detective Eric Bull. The six-episode continuation, written and directed by Claire Oakley and produced by Little Door Productions in partnership with Sky Studios, moves the investigation to a secluded Scottish mining community burdened by hidden secrets. The plot centers on a murder that draws Bull closer to revelations about his own history.

Production is scheduled to begin in Scotland in 2027, with the series to be released on Sky and the Now streaming platform across the United Kingdom, Ireland and Italy. Executive producers include Little Door CEO Elwen Rowlands, Oakley and Sky’s Megan Spanjian, while Zoranna Piggott serves as series producer. International distribution will be handled by NBCUniversal Global TV Distribution.

Why it matters

The sequel builds on a hit Sky original, adding fresh content for its platforms and supporting the UK television industry.
