Skyroot Aerospace seeks $300 million in two-stage funding with differing valuations

Skyroot Aerospace is negotiating a $300 million capital raise, splitting the amount into two $150 million tranches at separate valuations.

The Indian launch-vehicle maker plans to secure $150 million from domestic family offices at a valuation of roughly $2.3-2.5 billion. A second $150 million would come from overseas investors such as General Catalyst, General Atlantic and Benchmark, at a higher valuation that could reach $3 billion. The funding is intended to expand rocket production after the company’s recent orbital flight.

Why it matters

The financing could accelerate India’s private space sector and increase competition in global launch services.
