Slack rolls out AI-powered collaborative coding channels for teams

Slack has launched Slack Code, a set of project-specific channels that let users work with AI coding agents directly inside the platform.

Slack announced Slack Code, an addition that provides open, project-focused channels for collaborative programming with AI agents. When a user tags a coding assistant like Claude or Devin, the agent opens a channel where the whole team can monitor the conversation, review code differences, and watch real-time HTML previews. Feedback can be submitted and the work approved within the same space before it ships.

Once the task is finished, the channel self-archives and records an audit trail for future reference. Slack Code is offered to every Slack subscription and works with AI agents listed in Slack’s marketplace, including those from Anthropic, Cognition, Vercel and GitHub. The rollout positions Slack as a unified hub for development and AI-assisted coding workflows.

Why it matters

It lets development teams coordinate with AI code assistants without leaving Slack, simplifying workflow and auditability.
