InvoiceCloud’s 2026 Consumer Claims Experiences Survey shows only roughly 15% of claimants receive their payment within a week, indicating widespread dissatisfaction with claim speed. The same poll reports that three-quarters of participants would likely switch to a different insurer if payouts remain slow. Kevin O’Brien, the company’s CEO, stressed that the stress of filing a claim is amplified by delayed payments and that real-time digital disbursements can help insurers retain trust.
Communication during the claims process remains important, though many still favor traditional contact methods. Direct deposit emerged as the favored payment method, with more than half of respondents choosing it over paper checks, while online banking is preferred for urgent access to funds.
