Around 10:30 a.m., a light aircraft crashed close to the Petaluma Municipal Airport in California's wine country. Employees at the airport and the adjacent Rooster Run Golf Club reported the incident to authorities. Firefighters arrived quickly, dousing the wreckage as thick smoke rose from the site. Police have asked motorists to avoid E. Washington Street between Garfield Drive and Adobe Road. It remains unclear whether anyone was injured.
