SNCB launches hiring drive for over 900 staff with paid training programs

The Belgian railway operator SNCB is seeking more than 900 new employees for next year, offering paid training for train drivers and attendants.

SNCB’s upcoming recruitment campaign targets more than 900 positions for the coming year, spanning driver, attendant, and workshop technician roles. The railway also intends to add staff to its commercial team and to Securail, hiring both security agents and control-room dispatchers. Approximately 150 openings relate to other corporate functions, while over 70 positions focus on information-technology expertise.

Prospective drivers will undergo a paid training period of roughly one year, and attendants will receive about five months of compensated instruction. The company emphasizes that early hiring accelerates training start dates, enabling new hires to become operational more quickly. Vacancies from this year remain unfilled, and the recruitment effort follows a strong response to earlier job postings.

Why it matters

SNCB’s hiring push aims to fill critical staffing gaps and ensure reliable train services across Belgium.
