Social media commentator RJ Nieto appointed Assistant Secretary in the Cabinet Office

RJ Nieto, known for the Thinking Pinoy page, has been named Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Cabinet Secretary by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. issued an official memorandum appointing RJ Nieto, the mind behind the Thinking Pinoy social-media page, as Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Cabinet Secretary. The memo, signed by the president, directs Nieto to submit his oath of office to the Office of the President and the Civil Service Commission. Nieto posted the document on his Facebook page, saying he feels both grateful and apprehensive about the new role.

He indicated that he has not yet taken the oath and must complete a few remaining formalities before beginning work. Nieto highlighted his academic training in mathematics at the University of Bristol, hoping it will help him assess evidence and complex systems in the Cabinet Office’s mandate to monitor program implementation and service delivery.
