Socialist deputies unveil budget plan targeting purchasing power and climate spending

Socialist members of parliament unveiled a set of budget measures on September 16, with parliamentary discussion slated to start in October. Central to the plan is an increase in the minimum wage and the introduction of a progressive social contribution designed to bring gross pay closer to net earnings. To finance this, the deputies propose a tax on very high inheritances and a graduated contribution on labor income, aiming to shift the fiscal balance toward workers.

Climate policy also receives priority, with calls for extra financing to double civil-security budgets, expand the green fund for local authorities, and create a dedicated climate-security fund to support agricultural adaptation, building renovation and disaster compensation. The proposals aim to influence the upcoming presidential election debate.
