Solar Industries to buy South African chemicals group Omnia in Rs 12,951 crore deal

Solar Industries announced it will purchase Omnia’s shares at ZAR 134.5 each, pending regulatory clearance, with completion expected in early to mid-2027.

Solar Industries filed an exchange notice indicating its intention to buy Omnia’s share capital, except for treasury holdings, at a price of ZAR 134.5 per share. The acquisition is conditional on obtaining the necessary regulatory, statutory and competition approvals and is projected to be completed in early to mid-2027. Following the purchase, Omnia will be delisted from both the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and A2X Markets. The company, founded in 1953 and operating in 23 countries with distribution in over 40, will become part of Solar Industries’ strategy to create a worldwide platform for commercial explosives and blasting solutions, enhancing its geographic reach, technology base and diversification.
