Solar Power Nation faces multiple state investigations after hundreds of consumer complaints
Solar retailer Solar Power Nation is under investigation in Queensland, NSW and South Australia following a flood of consumer grievances since 2024.
Investigations by regulators in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia target Solar Power Nation following hundreds of complaints lodged since 2024. The NSW Building Commission alone recorded over 240 issues ranging from unsafe battery installations to unfinished work and unresponsive service. Individual customers, including Adrian Goodfellow, who says his $30,000 system remains offline and unsafe, and Amin Khorram, who waited eight months for a missing inverter, have taken their disputes to state tribunals.
Solar Power Nation maintains that most installations meet standards and has pledged on-site warranty fixes within 28 days after one outlet's review. The firm also faces scrutiny from the Clean Energy Regulator and a consumer affairs warning in South Australia over possible consumer-law breaches. Earlier, the company was removed from a voluntary industry scheme after multiple code violations were identified.
