Son of Andhra Pradesh Rajya Sabha MP faces rash-driving charge after Aston Martin crash kills mall worker

Hyderabad police have charged Lingamaneni Sanjush, the 21-year-old son of Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh, with rash and negligent driving after his Aston Martin struck and killed 26-year-old sales assistant Bharati Mukhi near Inorbit Mall.

Madhapur police lodged a case against Lingamaneni Sanjush, 21, after his Aston Martin collided with Bharati Mukhi, a 26-year-old salesgirl at the Lifestyle store in Inorbit Mall, on August 16. Mukhi was crossing the street around 3 p.m. and sustained a critical head injury; she was taken to Apollo Hospital by Sanjush but was pronounced dead. The FIR cites section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers causing death by rash or negligent act, punishable by up to five years in jail and a fine.

Assistant Commissioner Ch Sridhar confirmed no arrest has been made because the charge is bailable, and Cyberabad Commissioner M Ramesh Reddy affirmed that all procedural steps have been followed. Sanjush tested negative for alcohol and drugs, and the vehicle is registered to Honer Prime Housing. In addition to his family ties—he is the son of Rajya Sabha MP and Jana Sena functionary Lingamaneni Ramesh—he holds director positions at Black Ridge Energy and Capital Energy. Authorities have issued notices to the accused, and attempts to obtain comments from Sanjush and his father have gone unanswered.
