Son of former rector and ex-justice minister detained, faces preventive arrest request
Alexandru Toader, a university lecturer and son of former rector Tudorel Toader, was detained by prosecutors and a 30-day preventive arrest has been proposed.
Alexandru Toader, who teaches at the Faculty of Law of the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași and is the son of former rector and ex-justice minister Tudorel Toader, was taken into custody by prosecutors for a 24-hour period. The investigation concerns alleged crimes against sexual freedom and integrity, including rape, sexual aggression, attempted sexual aggression and misuse of his academic position. Evidence suggests he may have exploited his authority over multiple female students.
