Congress leader Sonia Gandhi opened an Instagram profile on Thursday, promoting her forthcoming memoir and attracting more than 110,000 followers within hours.

On Thursday, Sonia Gandhi debuted on Instagram, posting a clip of herself accepting the first copies of her memoir "Belonging: A Journey of Love" and later a picture of her perusing the book. Within a few hours, the profile gathered over 110,000 followers, prompting the Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson to follow the accounts of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and the party itself.
