Sonos unveils Ace Ultra headphones with expanded speaker syncing and stronger ANC
Sonos introduced the Ace Ultra headphones, which can now transfer audio from any Sonos speaker and offer improved noise cancellation and battery life.
Sonos announced the Ace Ultra headphones, a refreshed version of its first headset that now supports audio swapping with any Sonos speaker or soundbar, not just a limited set of models. Users can shift TV sound, local media or turntable playback to the headphones and back to the original room with one button, though the function remains in Early Access and requires opting in. The device runs on the updated Headphone Engine 2 platform, featuring new Wi-Fi hardware, an 8-band equalizer and additional microphones that double active noise cancellation compared with the prior version.
Battery capacity has been increased, delivering up to 35 hours of use with ANC enabled, and new ear pads improve passive isolation. Core features such as adaptive ANC, sidetone, Dolby Atmos support, and lossless audio via Bluetooth aptX Adaptive or USB-C remain unchanged. The Ace Ultra will launch on September 29 at a price of $449, available in four colors.
Why it matters
The upgrade lets Sonos users integrate headphones more fully into their home audio ecosystem while offering better sound and longer use time.
