Sony expands ULT Power Sound line with three larger, brighter party towers

Sony announced three additions to its ULT Power Sound series: the Tower Max, Tower 7 and Tower 5, all built as tall, party-ready speakers. All three provide expanded connectivity through USB-C, RCA and XLR ports, allowing users to hook up traditional audio equipment. Lighting upgrades include up to 100 LEDs that display functional cues and create music-synchronized light shows.

The Tower Max, the biggest at 121 lb, carries four tweeters, two mids and three 280 mm woofers, delivering what Sony calls its most powerful bass yet and is priced at $1,499.99. The 50-lb Tower 7 features a single 280 mm woofer, two mids and four tweeters, runs up to 30 hours on battery, and costs $649.99. The 29-lb Tower 5, with a 230 mm woofer, two mids and two tweeters, offers up to 20 hours of playback for $449.99 and includes IPX4 water-resistance when used vertically.
