Sony unveils Xperia 10 VIII with brighter screen and higher price tag
Sony has launched the Xperia 10 VIII, a mid-range Android phone that keeps most specs of its predecessor but costs about £150 more in the UK.
Sony announced the Xperia 10 VIII as the latest iteration of its mid-range Xperia line, targeting markets outside the United States. The handset mirrors the Xperia 10 VII in most respects, featuring a 6.1-inch 2340 × 1080 OLED screen, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 8 GB of RAM, a 5,000 mAh battery and 128 GB of internal storage. The only notable display improvement is a 50 % boost in peak brightness.
Photographic capabilities stay the same with a 50 MP main sensor, a 13 MP ultrawide lens and an 8 MP front camera. Sony highlights louder speakers—15 % louder—and a new double-tap power-button shortcut for digital payments. The phone sports a translucent rear case available in Frozen White, Frosted Grey and Misty Lilac, and will launch in September at a UK price of £549, roughly £150 higher than the prior model.
