South African author Coral Hart claims to have published nearly 400 AI-assisted books in 20 months
Coral Hart says she has released close to 400 titles since early 2025 using artificial-intelligence tools, a method that has drawn intense online backlash and threats.
Coral Hart, a pseudonym used for safety, has produced almost 400 books since February 2025 by leveraging AI platforms like ChatGPT for dialogue, Claude for prose, and Grok for erotic scenes. After a three-month learning period, she built a matrix that turns structured outlines into full drafts, which are then refined through successive AI passes and a final human proofread. The author, who previously wrote dozens of books without AI, now runs a small company that trains hundreds of writers in her technique and plans to launch a turnkey software called Autorythm.
Despite some titles entering Amazon’s top-hundred list, the bulk of her output targets niche markets, yet she claims total sales have surpassed one million copies and generated more than one million dollars in 2026. The approach has provoked a flood of hostile comments online, including threats, prompting her to defend the technology’s role in modern publishing.
