South Australian MPs urge fellow basin states to meet Murray-Darling water commitments
A delegation of South Australian federal MPs and senators met in Canberra demanding that other Murray-Darling Basin states increase their contributions to the Basin Plan.
The South Australian politicians gathered alongside the Murray-Darling Conservation Alliance to press the federal government for full implementation of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan. They argued that water-purchasing schemes could help address one outlet shortfall. The group called on neighboring basin states to step up their water-saving efforts. The federal government will now decide how to cover the remaining deficit.
