South Korea and Indonesia deepen defense partnership with joint fighter jet milestone

At a reception in Jakarta commemorating the Republic of Korea's National Day and Armed Forces Day, the South Korean ambassador described Indonesia as a vital ally in defense and security matters. He pointed to the joint KF-21 Boramae fighter jet program, which has successfully concluded its development phase after overcoming operational hurdles. Building on this achievement, South Korea intends to raise the partnership to a higher level, encompassing not only defense industry collaboration but also expanded dialogues and security initiatives. The gathering featured prominent Indonesian figures such as former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Investment and Downstreaming Minister Rosan Roeslani, Hajj Minister Irfan Yusuf, and Regional Representative Council Speaker Sultan Najamudin, along with diplomats from Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Russia.
