South Korea boosts winter international flight schedule, adding routes to Japan and China
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that South Korea will raise the number of weekly international flights for the winter season, with extra services to Japan and China.
South Korea's transport ministry disclosed that the upcoming winter season will see 5,353 weekly international flights across 264 routes connecting 44 nations. The schedule, running from late October until March, will be serviced by 84 airlines—11 based in South Korea and 73 foreign carriers. This represents a rise in weekly flights compared with the previous winter, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.
The bulk of the growth comes from new and additional services to Japan and China, where weekly flights will increase by 314 and 232 respectively. The ministry attributed the expansion to robust demand for both inbound tourism and outbound travel. The move aims to strengthen South Korea's connectivity and support the recovering travel market.
