South Korea clinches five golds at Asian Games, including baseball sweep and skateboarding debut

At the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, South Korea added five gold medals, raising its tally to 21 and securing third place overall. The Korea Baseball Organization All-Stars beat Japan 3-1 in the baseball final, avenging a recent loss. Teen skateboarder Kang Jun-i captured the country’s inaugural skateboarding gold in the men’s street competition with a top run and trick score.

The women’s handball team overcame Japan for their first gold since 2018, while the women’s sabre team won decisively over Japan. In equestrian dressage, Nam Dong-heon ended a 12-year drought with a gold medal, and divers Kim Su-ji and Kim Na-hyun earned a silver in the synchronized 3m springboard, complemented by a bronze in the men’s synchronized 10m platform.
