South Korea clinches late winner to book Asian Games football final spot

South Korea scored an 82nd-minute header to beat China 2-1 and advance to the Asian Games men's football final.

The semi-final of the Asian Games men's football saw South Korea rally from a 1-0 loss to China, thanks to a dramatic late strike. After Wang Yudong gave China the lead in the 22nd minute, Lee Young-jun responded eleven minutes later, though China goalkeeper Li Hao could not keep the ball out. The match remained level until the 82nd minute when Bae Jun-ho, playing for Stoke City, headed in the winning goal at Nagai Stadium in Nagoya.

The 2-1 result propels South Korea into the final, where they will meet either host Japan or Uzbekistan for the gold medal on Saturday. China, making its first semi-final appearance since 1998, fell short of its historic quest for Asian Games football gold.
