South Korea's President Lee Jae Myung meets UAE official to deepen 100-year partnership
President Lee Jae Myung met UAE Executive Affairs Authority chairman Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak at the Blue House, reaffirming a century-long cooperation pact and thanking the UAE for oil deliveries.
In a meeting at the Blue House, President Lee Jae Myung received Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, chairman of Abu Dhabi’s Executive Affairs Authority, to discuss the continuation of the 100-year partnership agreed during Lee’s November state visit to the UAE. Lee expressed gratitude for the UAE’s decision to prioritise crude oil supplies to South Korea in March amid the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran. He noted that cooperation now spans defence, artificial intelligence, nuclear power and cultural exchange, and called for regular contact between each country’s designated officials to produce concrete results for their peoples.
Lee also asked Al Mubarak to convey his regards to UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who in turn sent greetings and described South Korea as a “brother nation.” The visit follows a previous UAE delegation trip in January and comes amid speculation of a summit in South Korea next month.
