On Dokdo Island, a giant Taegeukgi measuring 30 by 20 metres was hoisted by a group of 70 South Koreans as part of the Dokdo Day celebration. The event was captured in a one-minute drone video that also showcased scenic views of the islet in the East Sea. The footage was posted on social media along with a call for international visitors, highlighting South Korea’s claim to the territory amid ongoing Japanese objections. A professor from Sungshin Women's University identified the video and its promotional purpose. The island remains under the watch of a small South Korean police detachment.
