South Korea urges deeper Korea-China-Japan ties to boost regional stability

South Korea’s foreign minister, Cho Hyun, urged the three neighboring powers to intensify cooperation for the sake of peace and shared prosperity in East Asia. Speaking with Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat secretary-general Tatsushi Nishioka and deputy secretaries-general Kim Han-kyu and Li Jing, Cho praised the organization’s role in facilitating people-to-people exchanges since its 2011 launch. He stressed that coordinated action among Seoul, Beijing and Tokyo is essential to protect the everyday interests of their citizens.

The minister affirmed that South Korea will remain proactive in helping the trio find common ground and keep communication channels open. TCS officials expressed gratitude for Seoul’s backing and committed to advancing joint projects throughout one outlet leadership term ending on Aug. 31, 2029.
