He referenced a recent bilateral discussion with Secretary of State Marco Rubio that reaffirmed the need for constant dialogue to carry out key summit agreements. The discussion centered on the joint fact sheet released after the November summit between President Lee Jae Myung and President Donald Trump, which proposes a $350 billion investment in the United States, with $150 billion earmarked for shipbuilding cooperation, alongside plans for nuclear-powered submarines and uranium fuel services.
Cho urged the Senate to actively support swift progress on these strategic projects. Shaheen and Coons reiterated strong bipartisan support for the alliance, noted the investment’s role in creating U.S. jobs, and pledged ongoing congressional oversight to ensure the agreements are fully implemented.
