South Launceston woman charged with multiple attempted poisonings

Police say a 43-year-old woman from South Launceston faces two counts of attempting to poison a 47-year-old man by giving him tainted drinks.

Tasmania Police allege that over several months the woman repeatedly provided the man with drinks that had been deliberately contaminated. The victim did not drink the beverages and suffered no physical harm. Authorities state the two individuals knew each other and there is no evidence that anyone else received the poisoned drinks. The woman has been detained and will appear in court on the charges.
