Special prosecutor seeks four-year prison term for former president in appeal

In the appeal of a political-funds case, the special prosecutor team asked the Seoul High Court to impose a four-year sentence on former President Yoon Suk-yeol and a three-year term on political broker Myeong Tae-gyun.

The special prosecutor team presented its arguments to the Criminal Division 7 of the Seoul High Court, requesting that the appellate court uphold a four-year imprisonment for former President Yoon Suk-yeol and add a three-year term for Myeong Tae-gyun. They also asked that a fine of 13.72 million won be levied against Yoon. The prosecutors argued that the poll was fabricated to favor Yoon and that the collaboration went beyond merely receiving results, compromising democratic processes.
