Speedo unveils detachable smart module for Vanquisher goggles to monitor all swim strokes

Speedo introduced a removable iQ module for its Vanquisher goggles that records stroke type, head motion, breathing and distance, sending the data to an app after a swim.

Speedo has launched a detachable smart module, branded iQ, designed for its Vanquisher line of goggles. The device employs stroke-specific sensors to detect which of the four competitive strokes a swimmer is performing, while also tracking head position, breath intervals and the distance covered per stroke. Data collected underwater is automatically sent to a linked smartphone app, allowing athletes to analyze their performance once they exit the pool.

Unlike rivals such as Form, the iQ system does not feature an integrated display and operates without any subscription fees. Users can move the module to a replacement pair of Vanquisher goggles, and the technology complies with World Aquatics competition rules. Priced at $189 for the goggles with the iQ module, the product is offered in a range of colors and can be ordered now.

Why it matters

Swimmers gain detailed, competition-legal performance analytics without extra hardware or fees.
