Spider-Man: Brand New Day delivered a $42 million domestic gross on Tuesday, establishing the biggest Tuesday box-office day in U.S. history and overtaking the $39.2 million record set by Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019. The film had already broken the domestic Monday record the previous day and amassed $449 million in just four days, making it the fastest to reach that total. Over the opening weekend it edged out Avengers: Endgame’s $357.1 million domestic debut, though Endgame retains the global opening record.
Director Destin Daniel Cretton’s movie also logged the strongest Thursday preview and Friday opening figures for Sony. The cast includes Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal and Mark Ruffalo. Sony Pictures chief Tom Rothman emphasized that audiences now demand exceptional theatrical experiences.
