Stalin brands TVK a 'Breaking Bad' party after drug bust arrests
DMK leader Stalin called the TVK a “Breaking Bad” party after a party official was seized with 100 kg of methamphetamine in Nagapattinam.
A raid by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence in Nagapattinam led to the seizure of 100 kg of methamphetamine and the arrest of two suspects, one of whom is N Boopalan, a TVK district executive and former election in-charge for the Kilvelur Assembly constituency. The drugs were allegedly slated for export to Sri Lanka via a TVK-linked network. In response, DMK chief Stalin labeled TVK a “Breaking Bad” party and called for a thorough investigation to expose and dismantle the entire operation.
He criticized the ruling party for conducting a “census of Communists” while ignoring alleged drug elements in TVK’s ranks. Stalin also hinted that the chief minister might respond with a typical “punch dialogue.” The second arrested individual, J Sughan alias Suganathan, along with his brother J Parthiban and D Sathish, were detained for further questioning.
Why it matters
The arrest highlights alleged drug trafficking links within a regional political party, raising concerns about criminal infiltration of politics.
