Stallone Says He Declined Trump’s Hollywood Ambassador Offer as Unworkable

Sylvester Stallone disclosed that he never intended to serve as a “special ambassador” to Hollywood, a title bestowed by President Trump in January 2025 alongside Mel Gibson and Jon Voight. He recounted learning of the appointment on television and reacting with disbelief, saying he would have found the role impossible if asked directly. Stallone told Trump the position would not succeed, noting Hollywood’s corporate nature and the challenge of addressing six major studios.

He described the entertainment industry as resembling feudal states with distinct kingdoms. Although he declined, Stallone praised Trump as a “mythical character” and expressed awe at his accomplishments. The ambassador role was presented as a means to restore Hollywood’s global business.
