STAN gains ground while ANO slips and ODS loses support in latest poll

A new poll shows STAN improving its standing, ANO’s backing falling to its lowest since early this year, and ODS losing a share of voters.

According to a poll conducted for Novinky.cz, the governing ANO party is experiencing a drop in voter support, reaching its lowest result since February. If elections were held today, ANO would secure a reduced number of seats compared with the last election. The opposition movement STAN has improved its rating by several points, achieving its strongest showing since the prior vote, and is being seen as a clear opposition leader, even attracting attention from Prime Minister Andrej Babiš.

ODS has weakened slightly since June, struggling to assert itself after the breakup of the former coalition. Smaller coalition partners like SPD and the Pirates are expected to clear the electoral threshold, while the Motorist party sits just below it. Parties such as the Christian Democrats, Communists, TOP 09 and Naše Česko are unlikely to surpass the five-percent barrier.

Why it matters

The poll indicates shifting voter preferences ahead of upcoming elections, affecting coalition dynamics in the Czech Parliament.
