Steel slab drops onto Kyoto train tracks, no injuries reported
A steel plate about 1.8 kg fell onto the tracks at JR Kyoto Station on Monday afternoon, but no one was hurt and train service continued.
JR West said a metal plate roughly 79 cm by 43 cm and 0.6 mm thick landed on the rails at Kyoto Station. The object, likely leftover roofing material from recent roof renovations, was removed by station staff after a passenger alerted a conductor. Despite the incident, no injuries occurred and train operations were not disrupted.
