Østfold Marineservice declared bankrupt amid mounting debts and numerous payment defaults
Østfold Marineservice AS filed for bankruptcy after the board submitted a petition, citing high rent and key-person illness as key factors.
Søndre Østfold tingrett has initiated bankruptcy proceedings for Østfold Marineservice AS following a self-initiated petition by its board. Mayliss Marie Bjurstrøm, who serves as both chair and chief executive, described the situation as a regrettable dead-end caused by a combination of exorbitant rent and illness among pivotal personnel. Financial statements reveal modest turnover of just under eight hundred thousand kroner and a small profit, while debt levels have risen sharply, accompanied by eighty payment notices amounting to over one million kroner and a tax lien of roughly one-hundred-eighty thousand kroner.
The company’s premises have been taken over by Seilbåtservice, and most of the external equipment appears to belong to that firm. Five staff members were already let go before the court hearing, and a digital creditors' meeting is scheduled for mid-November, with claim submissions due by early November.
