Storm Boelo struck the west and northwest of Ireland, causing power outages for around 8,000 homes and businesses, with an additional 7,000 customers in Northern Ireland still without electricity. Met Éireann responded with a Status Yellow rain warning for Cork and Kerry from early Monday morning until mid-morning, and a Status Yellow wind warning covering Carlow, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Kilkenny, Mayo, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow from late Monday afternoon into the night, plus a later rain warning for Cork, Galway, Kerry and Mayo.

The agency warned of hazardous travel, possible localized flooding and fallen trees. ESB Networks highlighted the danger of downed live wires, urging people to report them and stay clear.
