Strategy adds $21 million of Bitcoin, boosting its corporate crypto holdings

Strategy announced a $21 million Bitcoin purchase, raising its total crypto assets to about $70 billion.

Strategy disclosed that it bought over $21 million worth of Bitcoin last week, bringing its overall holdings to roughly $70 billion. To finance the deal, the company sold over 125,000 shares of its common stock and spent $500,000 in cash, while also spending about $192 million to repurchase nearly 2 million shares of its preferred stock, STRC, which pays regular investor returns. The purchase is the fifth since August, following Bitcoin's rebound above $77,000 and its current price around $82,600.

Strategy, which owns about 4 % of Bitcoin’s circulating supply, had previously sold portions of its stash during the price slump but has now resumed accumulation. Other firms such as Strive, Robinhood, Metaplanet and Bitmine have also recently increased their crypto balances, signaling a broader revival of corporate Bitcoin buying.
