Student fatally falls from fourth floor at Los Angeles high school
A boy died after falling from a fourth-story building at Benjamin Franklin High School in Los Angeles, police said.
Around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, a male student fell from the fourth floor of Benjamin Franklin High School in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, resulting in his death. The Los Angeles Police Department arrived on scene, secured the area and initiated a lockdown of the campus. Emergency responders treated the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not disclosed the student's identity or age, referring to him only as a boy. Preliminary investigation revealed no evidence of criminal activity. A canopy was erected over the site and the school will stay locked down until law enforcement gives the all-clear.
