Students Block Paris Dauphine Entrance as Nationwide Campus Protests Escalate
Students gathered before the gates of Paris Dauphine University, chanting and singing to halt the campus opening, joining a wave of protests across French universities.
In an unusual early-morning protest, students gathered at the entrance of Paris Dauphine University, singing and chanting while surrounding the metal fences that block access to the campus. Their presence prompted drivers to sound their horns in solidarity, creating a festive yet confrontational atmosphere. The demonstrators aimed to stop the university’s routine opening, a tactic not commonly seen in French student activism.
According to the Union étudiante, every university on the mainland is currently affected by either preventive closures or active student actions. The unrest spans locations such as Lille, Montpellier, Angers, Reims, Rennes, Toulouse, Limoges and the Paris region, indicating a nationwide wave of academic dissent.
