Students for Life Action endorses Ralph Norman in South Carolina Senate primary

The anti-abortion group Students for Life Action announced its support for Rep. Ralph Norman in the South Carolina Senate runoff against interim Sen. Darline Graham Nordone.

Students for Life Action, which operates chapters across the United States, formally backed Rep. Ralph Norman for the South Carolina Senate seat in a special primary runoff. In a press release, the organization praised Norman as a dependable pro-life advocate, noting his clear voting record compared with interim Sen. Darline Graham Nordone, who has been described as silent on abortion and who donated to a state senator that blocked anti-abortion bills.

Graham Nordone responded on social media, reiterating her lifelong dedication to defending unborn children. The endorsement follows recent support for Norman from former UN ambassador Nikki Haley and Rep. Nancy Mace, while Graham Nordone retains endorsements from President Donald Trump and other GOP figures. One outlet sought comments from both candidates but did not receive a response.

Why it matters

The endorsement could influence voter perception in a tightly contested Senate race that may shape South Carolina's congressional delegation.
