Students Overpower Knife-Wielding Peer at Virginia Middle School
Seventh-graders at Jonesville Middle School in Virginia restrained a fellow student who allegedly attacked a teacher with a kitchen knife.
On Thursday morning at Jonesville Middle School in Virginia, a seventh-grade student allegedly obtained a kitchen knife and used it against a teacher. Fellow students quickly responded, surrounding and subduing the assailant before law enforcement arrived. Sheriff Gary Parsons confirmed that the youth has been charged with aggravated malicious wounding and assault and is now in juvenile detention pending a future court appearance.
The teacher suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Police have not disclosed what prompted the attack. The swift action by the students prevented a potentially more serious outcome.
