Sunil Malhotra steps in as new voice for Apu in upcoming Simpsons episode

The Simpsons aired "The Revengening" on October 18, marking Apu's first spoken lines since the 2017 "The Serfsons" episode. Sunil Malhotra, known for roles in "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Legend of Korra," was cast as the new voice of Apu, while Janina Gavankar makes her debut as his wife Manjula. Matt Selman explained that the show plans to feature the Nahasapeemapetilon family more often, aiming for a respectful evolution of the character.

The Halloween-themed storyline has Apu adopting a "Daft Monk" persona, confronting Springfield residents, and ultimately waking from a revenge-fueled nightmare. The episode ends with Apu back at the Kwik-E-Mart, joining a Halloween party, signaling his full return to the series.
