Sunrise launches multi-year transformation, plans to cut up to 450 jobs
Swiss telecom provider Sunrise is evaluating the elimination of as many as 450 full-time positions as part of a multi-year restructuring aimed at boosting efficiency.
Sunrise, the second-largest telecom operator in Switzerland, has announced a comprehensive transformation program that includes a review of supplier contracts and a potential reduction of up to 450 full-time jobs. The move is designed to create a leaner cost base and free resources for customer service, network reliability and new technology initiatives. With roughly 2900 staff members, the cuts would represent a significant portion of the workforce.
Employees in retail stores, sales and call centres are expected to be largely protected, and apprentices are excluded from any reductions. The company will begin a formal consultation process with the employee representation and the union syndicom in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which further details of the restructuring will be disclosed.
